The 11th Annual Paddlefest took place this weekend, and knowledge bomb — Cincinnati is the paddling capital of the United States. With over 2,200 paddlers, the Ohio River Way Paddlefest is the largest canoe/kayak paddling event in the Midwest. What a fun way to kick off the summer and enjoy Cincinnati’s greatest natural asset, the Ohio River, which (incidentally) is owned by Kentucky. Oh well, we’ll overlook that.
So anyway, here are 10 reasons why you should have gone to paddlefest.
10.) Splish splashing is cool
9.) It’s summer. It’s hot. You get to be near the water. Need I say more?
8.) Paddling makes you happy. Come on now, look at those smiles:)
7.) Apparently it also makes you think.
6.) You get to kick up your feet and think you’re cool. Verdict is still out on whether you actually are — jk.
5.) This isn’t a video game. These kids are actually outside, off the couch, and seemingly enjoying the outdoors. All hope is not lost.
4.) Farmer’s tans = always a good time

3.) You would’ve seen this guy
… And THAT GUY
2.) Stand-up paddle boarding. It’s all the rage. *Note to self: it would have been cooler with a dog.
Yeah it would.
1.) VICTORY!

Johnny Drama still owns this pose, but Mr. Dad and the Cincy Pig are giving him a run for his money.
I bet you won’t miss the 12th annual Paddlefest.
